Pentacle
Sacred to the Goddess and in some traditions the God. Element of Earth and direction of North. The pentacle is usually a flat piece of brass, gold, silver, wood, wax or clay inscribed with the pentagram. An instrument of protection used as a power point for consecrating ritual objects, such as water or wine in a chalice, amulets and tools, grounding stray energy in a room or, sometimes, a tool used to evoke spirits. It is usually kept in the center of the altar but Pentacles are also hung over doors and windows to act as protective devices.
Pentagram
Simply put a five pointed star. In pagan communities it is encompassed by a circle on the outside. Seen most often as jewelry.
Poppet
A small doll made from wax, fabric, clay, wood or other materials used in sympathetic magick to represent the person that the spell work is being concentrated on.
