1 qt. warm apple wine

2 oz. sugar

1/4 pint water

stick cinnamon

1/2 cup woodruff flowers (freshly picked)

slice of orange per glass

DIRECTIONS: Allow the woodruff to set in the warm wine for a half hour, then remove. To this add sugar and water. This serves about six peopleand my be prepared warm or cold. Garnish with orange slices and cinnamon.

HISTORY/LORE: In Germany, woodruff is called "the master of the woods",with a rich smell similar to that of cinnamon. Its white flowers are sacred to the Goddess and it has often been used in magick to protect against impishness.

ALTERNATIVE: Substitute apple juice or cider for the wine.
