Cycles and Habit Breaking Ritual

The following spell is designed to break cycles, habits, or trends that you wish to be broken. It can also be used as a luck spell to change the apparent cycle of bad luck in certain peoples lives. The cycles that it works best with are relationship patterns, sleeping patterns, and diet (eating) patterns. Other cycles that it may be used for in cases were the cycle or pattern is not severe are accident cycles (accident prone people), job patterns, abuse patterns - specially for child and/or spouse abuse (*NOTE* this spell is to stop the abuser from being that way, not the abused), and possibly addictions - though I would STRONGLY recommend a Shamanic path-work and ceremony for that.

Materials:

a.. Corn husks - whole not powdered or chopped

b.. Twine or cotton string - fairly heavy gauge

c.. A quartz shard - roughly 2-4 " long

d.. Thin strips of cloth or paper - ½" high, 5" long

e.. A felt tipped marker - preferably a thin point

f.. A large metal bowl or a fire pit - a fireplace will also work

g.. Wood - thin and very dry branches for best results

h.. Lighter fluid

i.. A box of long wooden matches

j.. A bag of white sage - used as incense

k.. A bowl of cold water

l.. Metal tongs (like the ones used for cooking and serving corn)

Preparation:

Start the spell by making two figures or dolls out of the corn husks and string. These will be used to represent you as you are now, and you as you will be in the near future. They need not be too detailed. Do this step in advance - even up to a few days before the spell if you wish. Also, in preparation, find a spot where you can light a fire. A fireplace in a house will work just fine, but an outdoor fire pit would be even better.

The Spell:

At the beginning of the spell, start your fire with the dry branches - be sure to make the fire on the small side, since you will have to wait for it to burn completely out to finish the spell. Also, too many branches will make the fire too hot, and possibly ruin the spell. The lighter fluid can help to start the fire - just keep from making a mushroom cloud and scaring the neighbors. If you use lighter fluid, be sure to use the long matches - you don't want to interrupt the spell with a visit to the ER.

Once your fire is going, and fairly hot, take one of the corn husk dolls in your hand and empower it with your essence. Close your eyes, clench the doll, and visualize yourself into the doll - see it as you. Now, take the quartz shard, and do the same. The quartz represents your spirit, so empower it with your spiritual essence. Take the shard, and insert it into the doll's chest. Now, take something that is you to really connect you to the doll - if you have hair to spare (bald guys, look under your shirt for hair J ) pluck a piece and either tie it to the doll or stuff it inside the doll. If this is impossible, drop a tear, or some sweat, or (in a worst case) a little saliva.

Now, grab a few of those strips of paper or cloth and the marker. On each strip, write down a cycle you wish to break - make them present tense and active phrases. Example: If the cycle you are trying to break is a bad dating pattern, write things like - "my boyfriend will cheat on me. My girlfriend will be mean. My boyfriend will hit me. My girlfriend will drink to much. Etc."; if the cycle you are trying to break is diet then use phrases like "I will eat to much for lunch tomorrow. I will enjoy fatty foods. I will snack to much. I will always eat twice as much as I should. Etc."; the object is to write down the things you have been doing

wrong to cause your cycle. For the more abstract cycles and heavy concepts such as accident prone and abusive people, you may use phrases like "I will trip and fall down. People will knock things out of my hands. I will walk off balance." And "My dad hit me,

so I'll hit my kids. My husband is cruel to me, so I'll take it out on others. I will snap at people. I will resort to violence. Etc.".

Take these strips with the phrases on them and tie them to the doll with the crystal in it. Hold the doll in your hand and proclaim "My spirit is clean and true, and my shell is damaged. I shall cleanse this shell and re-emerge pure at heart, mind, and body". Now, to strip the shell from your spirit you must burn it away. Pour a little lighter fluid on the doll and throw it into the fire. Ask the spirits to take back these energies that cause these cycles to happen, that tell them that your shell needs to be stripped and cleansed, and then put back. Watch the fire as it quickly burns away the doll, along with the unwanted energy and patterns. The thoughts written on the strips are literally burned away from your core - the crystal. After the doll burns enough, you should be able to see the crystal in the ashes. When you can, take the metal tongs and remove the crystal - don't touch it as it will be

hot. Let the crystal air cool for at least 5 - 10 minutes, then drop it in the cold water (if you do this to fast, the crystal will shatter). After a minute or two in the cold water, remove the crystal and clean off any carbon or suite - you may want to wipe it off with a towel.

Now that you have removed all the unwanted energy and burned off the bad habits and cycles, it is time to re-integrate your essence into your new body and thus give yourself a 'clean slate' to start with. Take the crystal and the second doll in your hands, and

visualize your spirit re-entering your body. Take the crystal and insert it into the doll - do this slowly, and feel your spirit enter your body, feeling cool and clear and un-cluttered. When the crystal is all the way into the doll, put the doll down and relax - pay attention to the energy in your body. Notice the difference in your aura from before you started the spell. Let the energy fill you, clean you, and most of all - heal you.

Take the new doll and bury it in the ground - this is the act of giving back to mother earth, and sending her your energy and thanks. The spell is now complete, and you have shed your bad cycles.
