The following exercise is adapted from a guided imagery created by a friend, teacher, and Craft brother, now in spirit: Thomas-John Grieves. It is a simple method that I use often to attune to the Ray energies of the basic spectrum and chakra system. Once you have worked with it for a while, you will find it very effective as a doorway to inner vision, as well as to healing balance for yourself.
Crystal Cave
Begin by taking a long, slow, deep breath. Hold it a moment; then gently release. Continue to do this for several more times until you feel your body relax and your pace begin to slow and steady.
Stretch your right arm out as far as you can. Wiggle your fingers; visualize sparks of tension flying away. Relax your arm. Now do the same with your left arm. Next, stretch out your right leg as far as you can. Wiggle your toes and feel the energy release. Relax you leg and breathe deeply. Now do the same with your left leg. Relax, and breathe deeply once more; then let your breathing find its natural rhythm.
In your inner vision, imagine that you are climbing a twisting, steep mountain path. Take your time. Allow yourself to reach the top of the mountain. As you come to the top, you find that the path ends at the mouth of a large cave. Even as you stand at the entrance to the cave, you feel the vibrations from inside. These vibrations energize you and beckon for you to come inside the cave.
You step inside the cave and find that it glows from an unseen source of light. You notice that the walls of the cave are covered with beautiful clear crystals. As you step carefully, you find that the floor of the cave is also studded with crystals. Above you, the ceiling glitters with still more crystals.
Breathe deeply and absorb the energy of all these crystals. As you move deeper into the cave, you find that the crystals begin to glow a strong, rich red. Experience the energy of this Red Ray. When you have done that, move on deeper into the crystal cave.
As you do so, the crystals around you begin to glow a vibrant orange. Experience the energy of this Orange Ray. When you have done that, move on deeper into the crystal cave. Now the crystals begin to glow a bright, warm yellow. Experience the energy of this Yellow Ray. When you have done that, move on deeper into the crystal cave.
Now you feel the vibrations shift to another pace as the crystals around you glow a soothing, healing green. Experience the energy of this Green Ray. When you have done that, move on deeper into the crystal cave.
As you do so, the crystals around you begin to glow a cool, gentle blue. Experience the energy of this Blue Ray. When you have done so, move on deeper into the crystal cave. Now the crystals begin to glow a serene indigo. Experience the energy of this Indigo Ray. When you have done so, move on deeper into the crystal cave.
As you do so, you notice the crystals around you begin to glow a deep violet. Experience the energy of this Violet Ray. When you have done so, move on deeper into the crystal cave.
As you do so, you enter a chamber filled with crystals of all colors. Rich reds, vibrant oranges, warm yellows, soothing greens, gentle blues, serene indigos, and deep violets. Experience the ray energies of these crystals. Breathe deeply; absorb these energies. As you do so, you notice that the crystals around you are clear once more. Only a sparkle of color remains, twinkling inside each crystal.
All of the energies remain, deep inside of you. Experience the balance and energy of all these crystals. Take all the time you need. When you have done this, move on, once more, inside the crystal cave.
Now you find that you have come full circle on your path. You see the entrance of the crystal cave just ahead. The light of the clear crystal around you marks the way. Breathe deeply. Step out of the crystal cave, onto the mountain path. See yourself energized by the crystal-cave journey.
Experience the balance of your energies. Take all the time you need to return down the mountain and back to the present time and place. Take a long, slow deep breath; hold, stretch, and slowly release your breath. Experience yourself in balance. Now you are cleared to continue your journey as you choose to do so.
