Crystal Ball Gazing or Scrying
author unknown
The ancient art of crystal ball reading, gazing or scrying has been carried down through the centuries. The many depictions, paintings and literary references of crystal balls used as a form of divination only further attributes the fact that the spheres formed from crystal do transfer energy which manifests itself in the mind's eye reflection of the crystal ball.
The visuals and results of scrying or crystal ball reading vary greatly as with any method of using tools for connecting with our inner wisdom, inner voice and spirit. The best is that which we "work out" for our individual self over time and through repeated sessions.
To start, use the "keep it simple" technique. A Crystal Ball of 3 inches-5 inches in diameter is more than sufficicient. Prepare a darkened, quiet room with a candle or two lit nearby the area you will be reading the crystal ball. Be sure there are no reflections from anything appearing in the ball, such as objects of furniture, pictures on the walls, etc.
Place the crystal ball on a blue or black velvet cloth. You may either want to hold the ball in your hands or place it on a stand or pillow. Be sure if you hold it in your hands to hold it over the dark blue or black velvet cloth to prevent reflections or other objects from the room being viewed in the crystal ball .
Initially, you'll want to center yourself. If you usually meditate for centering, as I do, this is a good "pre-reading" practice that works for me to "clear". After you feel centered, gaze lightly into your crystal ball. Try not to blink, however do not stare. Then take deep, slow breaths in and out, relax and continue to gaze lightly into the crystal ball's center. To start you should do this for at least 15 minutes each time you practice, and then gradually increase the time to 20 minutes, 25 minutes, etc. until you feel you "know" you are "there". This usually occurs around the third or fourth practice session. You will begin to "see" a small, cloudy formation, almost a "glow" in the center of the crystal ball which is your focusing area of your "visions". You very well may have a "vision" the first time you practice, or it may take several times before seeing anything. Just be patient, and "in tune" with your inner self and remember, our ability to "read",
"see", "hear " or "visualize" is deep within us always, we are merely using tools to help us fine tune the focus .
